In the Spring of 2008, in April, our Prayer Shawl Ministry Group was begun. Our leaders and planners were Pastor Rusty Rustenhaven, Pastor Mary Kathryn Kirkpatrick, Margaret Agnor, Ben Agnor, and Rose Mary Magrill. At the present time, we have six active members. We will welcome any and all new members who crochet or knit.
Our group meets weekly on Wednesdays at 4:00 p.m., in the Conference Room at the church. At the present time, we have six active members. We will welcome any and all new members who crochet and/or knit.
Our purpose is to prepare prayer shawls for our graduating high school seniors and college students (those we prepare in their school colors). Also, we prepare shawls for those in our church who are ill or in need of prayer, for our shut-ins, and for many other occasions. We call ourselves the Prayer Shawl Group, but we also prepare blankets for newborn babies, and have been known to crochet or knit scarves or pot-holders. The Prayer Shawl Group has found this to be a very rewarding ministry for our church.
"Just a Shawl"

It's just an ordinary shawl
No magic, no healing power at all.
Beautifully made with tender care,
With prayer and love for someone to share.
A cloth to shield one from the cold,
Prayers and love to warm the soul.
Oh, it is just an ordinary shawl.
Ordinary? No. A glorious thing, not ordinary at all.
